Junkin’ gone wild…

I would like  you to know that over the years I have done a lot of things for the love of junk.

During our neighborhood trash pick up drive, I have scoured the streets of our neighborhood in search of items that our neighbors have thrown out. You might  laugh, but because of this, I have plantation shutters in  my windows… for

F_R_E_E..

I have shifted though our neighbors curb side trash while fellow PTA moms have

literally driven by and honked their horn,

and I am ok with that…

But sometimes, can the love of junk go a little too far???

Can it get any bigger???

YES!

YES it can…

This is Chief…

Some of you have met Chief before.

You see he is a bit of a temperamental little trailer that didn’t want to come and live with us about a year ago,

but he got over that very quickly.

So here he has sat.

For months.

But today, he is getting a make over…

stay tuned…

  1. i can’t believe you admitted it. congratulations on taking the
    first big step!

ironically, i ‘got’ a post in church yesterday about alcoholics
having to really make themselves vulnerable like that and
how unfair that they have to, and we get to hide all of our own
    addictions.

    haven’t actually written it yet.

i saw one very new, super adorable boy in your photos. now,
    i would take him! 🙂

  2. i got it, tell me what you think.

oh, man! We are looking for a trailer just like that…
I have dreams of painting it turquoise with zebra stripe trim and totally gypsy-fying the interior. don’t think the B-O-B is gonna go for that but a girl can dream.

Can’t wait to see what you do with it…I’ll have to live vicariously through you until we find our own home on wheels.

(I’m really craving an old Airstream, but HAVE YOU PRICED ONE OF THOSE BABIES??!??)

Can’t wait to see what you create in here! Have you ever checked out the Fly Ladies? They have all taken vintage trailers and fxed them up to travel in. I have a post in my April archives from last year about them. You would love it!

Keep us posted on your work in progress!

  6. LOVE it.. We got a free trailer too and redid it last summer. We used it all Summer long at the river and loved it.. And the best part of it was that it was a FREE FELLOW.. Can’t wait to see your finished work.

I just took my kids out in our vintage Shasta Compact for her maiden voyage this past weekend. Planning the next trip already. I really do envy you for the blue appliances that look brand new….
